BIBLE STUDY NO. 43 (3RD NOVEMBER, 2016)

TOPIC: SPIRITUAL WARFARE – PART 2
TITLE: OUR WEAPONS OF WARFARE

INTRODUCTION:
Christ gave us authority to trample or tread over the enemies, Satan, demons and his human agent (Luke 10:19). As a believer in Christ, no power, principalities or rulers of wickedness in the heavenly places will be able to stop you. Even if your human enemies join forces, they will be punished and the posterity of the righteous will be delivered (Proverbs 15:29). However, for you to be able to stay on top of Satan and his agents, there are three things you need to prepare for spiritual warfare.

1. Your Holiness: (By constantly maintaining your righteousness

2. Forgive all who have made themselves your enemy

3. Pray and fast always. You must always walk in these three principles if you don’t want the devil to give you a surprise attack.

Jesus did not wait for Satan’s temptation before He began fasting and praying for forty days and forty nights (Luke 4:1-13). The Bible tells us that the Spirit of God led Him to fast because He was going to be tempted by the devil. A Christian should be sober and sensitive to the Holy Spirit by living a life of purity and always praying as you seek the face of God. The Holy Spirit will tell you to fast. Also join your church fasting days as your Pastors declare it. If there is trial, trouble, testing, temptation or tribulation coming your way, God the Holy Spirit can instruct you to fast.

Again, Jesus already knew the word of God before the temptation and with the word of God, He overcame Satan. A Christian must know the truth (the Bible principles or teachings on all issues), so that you can reply the devil back when he strikes. Jesus did not shout, fight or quarrel or argue with the devil, He spoke the word of God to him. There is a word for every challenge you face in life, if you can’t find it, go to someone who understands the Bible better than you do (Luke 4:1-13).

Again, from this same passage, there is a lesson to learn; the devil left Jesus after failing to pull him into sin, but there is another key lesson here which is the fact that when we overcome Satan, he will go but he will wait and find another opportune time. So, if you have come out of one trial, as you rejoice, prepare again for yet another war. You are either in a spiritual warfare now or you just came out of one or may be getting into a new one.

The first thing the devil does is to take you away from knowing the Truth. The devil will subtly do everything to keep you away from the truth (deceived Adam and Eve). He does this by using people you love and trust to distract you (Matthew 16:21-23; Genesis 3:1-6; 1 Chronicles 21:1-3, 7,8). The devil can even transform himself as an angel of God using humans who appear spiritual or good to us – 2 Corinthians 11:13,14.

The Spiritual weapons are found in Ephesians 6:13-17. I call them the Christian soldier’s uniform.

A) TRUTH: which is your waist-belt
It stands for the understanding of the word of God and putting them into practice. Only those who obey the rules and the principles of God’s word can enjoy the things of the Kingdom of God.

B) BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS – Ephesians 6:14;
1 Thessalonians 5:8
Your holiness is what covers your heart from Satan’s attack

C) YOUR SHOES OF THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE – Ephesians 6:15, evangelism is a weapon.

D) THE MIGHTY SHIELD OF FAITH – Ephesians 6:16
Your faith in God will protect you from the lies of the devil to distract or derail you from your vision – Psalm 91:4.

E) YOUR HELMET OF SALVATION
Always remember who you are in Christ Jesus – Ephesians 6:17;
1 Thessalonians 5:8. Your salvation is of Christ not of your own effort. Therefore, see Jesus as the one who qualifies you, it is not your good deeds.

F) THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
Which is the word of God – Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12 says the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword.

All the weapons except the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT are for defence, because the battles belong to God. You only defend yourself with the five weapons while you defeat Satan with the Word of God that you know.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH LESSON 43 (OCTOBER 30, 2016)
GRADES 1, 2 AND 3

TOPIC: SPIRITUAL WARFARE – PART 2 (Armour of God)
SCRIPTURES: EPHESIANS 6:10-18

DEFINITION:
It is to fight war without using natural weapons like gun, cutlass and other physical means. It is God’s battle against the enemies.

AIM/OBJECTIVES:
The objective of this lesson is to teach the children what the weapons (armours) of spiritual warfare are. The aim is for them to know what things to do when engaging the devil or the wicked ones in a spiritual battle.

TEACHERS’ INSTRUCTION: Whatever we do is not by power or by might, therefore, it is important for you as a teacher to study properly and pray well before teaching. God bless you.

• A Short Prayer: Let them say the Lord’s Prayer. Say it and let them repeat it after you. Do this always.

INTRODUCTION:
The Bible tells us that in spiritual warfare, we are not fighting things that have flesh or blood (they are not humans), they are spirits. Someone may be attacking you, but it is the devil’s spirit that is controlling the person. Fighting the trouble maker will cause you more trouble but instead, you can fight them another way which is spiritual. The devil fights us by causing sickness, disease, accidents, quarrels and leading us into temptation and making us to fall into sin; but God helps us when we call upon Him through prayer and fasting if we are righteous.

Step 1: God does not answer the prayer of a sinner (Isaiah 59:1-2)

Step 2: Sin makes Satan to defeat a person (Romans 6:16)

Step 3:
The righteous are bold, the wicked is afraid and runs even when no one is pursuing him – Proverbs 28:1

Step 4: These weapons we use against Satan are found in Ephesians 6:14-17 (read it and name them).

Step 5: They are the uniform of a Christian solder

Step 6: i) TRUTH
That is knowing what the Bible says

ii) BREATPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Be holy and do not live in sins

iii) YOUR SHOES
Which is preaching the gospel of peace (Evangelism – soul winning)

iv) THE SHIELD OF FAITH
Believe in God and His word all the time

v) HELMET (Cap) OF SALVATION
Believe that Jesus has saved you.

vi) THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT
Which is the word of God in your heart.

Step 7: You must also be prayerful and watchful – Ephesians 6:18

Step 8: We should be watchful because the devil is a deceiver, he will come from time to time to deceive you like he deceived Adam and Eve to sin (Genesis 3;1; 2 Corinthians 2;11).

Step 9: Satan also likes to steal the word of God from people so that they may not remember them – Mark 4;14-15

Step 10: Always remember the word of God that you are taught every time so that the devil will not deceive you.

Step 11: Jesus overcame Satan’s temptation by using the word of God – Matthew 4;3-9

Step 12: If you know these things, the devil cannot destroy you-Ephesians 6:16; Psalm 91:4.

SUMMARY
Know what the Bible says by reading the Bible and listening to your teachers, do what the Bible says all the time (that is righteousness), pray all time. Do not allow Satan or anyone to deceive you. Believe the word of God is true (faith), preach to bad boys and girls to change. Don’t forget you are a child of God (Salvation). The devil cannot harm you. God bless you.
QUESTIONS

A) How many weapons do we have for warfare?

B) Name them, what are the uniform of a Christian soldier?

SUNDAY SCHOOL NO. 43 (30 OCTOBER, 2016)

TOPIC: SPIRITUAL WARFARE – PART 2
TITLE: “OUR AMOURS OF WAR”

INTRODUCTION: Last week, we learnt about three principles of warfare:
1) HOLINESS (living in righteousness and forgiving your enemies

2) Prayer; and

3) Fasting.

These three are the battle itself; because spiritual battles are fought by divine or supernatural way, you must do all these I mentioned before God can take over your battles from you. God never fails; He is a winner all the times. If you want to be sure of victory in your life battles, you must follow God’s principles.

According to the word of God (2 Chronicles 7:14, God said “if Christians (my people who are called by my name), will HUMBLE THEMSELVES (fast) and pray, SEEK HIS FACE (tithe, offering, first-fruits, soul winning, service, praise, worship) and REPENT FROM THEIR SINS (HOLINESS) and I will hear from heaven and heal their land (prosper them). Everything you need to make God step into your battles are mentioned above.

Today, we are going to see the armours of war that we must put on before we can say “we are battle ready”. These armours help you to stand in protection and to confront the enemies as the Lord battles for you. They are found mainly in Ephesians 6:13-17.

1) TRUTH
Truth is living in God’s principles. God helps those who stand in righteousness (Isaiah 4:15). By being holy, you become strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Holiness clothes you in God’s armour and protects you from the Missiles of the enemy. Holiness makes you stand tall in the midst of opposing forces (John 14:30-31) and holiness will position you in Christ so that satanic forces are all kept under your feet (Ephesians 1:2-23).

Sin will make Satan tread on a sinner at his will (Romans 6:16). Anytime you fight Satan, his demons or human agents when sin is in your life, you can be sure you will suffer some injuries; but if you are living holy, you will surely win your battles no matter how bad they may seem. A person’s lifestyle determines his or her position in the realm of the spirit. God may be willing to help but your sin can tie His hands (Isaiah 59:1-2). I got my freedom when I understood this principle. I used to live in fear of Satan and human attack but this truth made me free and I am left free. Every day I face battles against the church, against my life and even against my family and people I love, and I have never lost one battle since I began to live a life of walking in God’s principles (Truth).

2) BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Which is depending on the blood of Jesus and your salvation daily to maintain a holy living.

3) YOUR SHOES; THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
God fights for anyone who is a soul winner. Devil can never defeat a preacher or any evangelist who is honest in their calling. No Satan, no man or woman can touch my life in Jesus name because I know who I am in Christ Jesus and I know I am preaching the true gospel of peace of Jesus Christ.

4) SHIELD OF FAITH
The truth you know will protect you from doubt if Satan comes to tempt or derail you from what the Bible says. You must know your rights and privilegdes in Christ. Stand in the promises of God and no power can destroy you (Ephesians 6;16, Psalm 91:4).

5) THE INVISIBLE HELMET OF SALVATION
Your salvation given to you by Jesus Christ – 1 Thessalonians 5:8

6) THE INVISIBLE SWORD OF GOD WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD
The word of God is powerful and alive, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12, Ephesians 6:17).

Finally, Ephesians 6:18 warn us to be watchful as we pray in supplication (praying depending on God’s mercy and not your power or righteousness). Let look at the Bible and learn why these are important to us.

BIBLE STUDY NO. 42 (27 OCTOBER, 2016)

TOPIC: SPIRITUAL WARFARE – PART 1
TITLE: USING MY AUTHORITY IN CHRIST

INTRODUCTION:
Warfare is the activity of fighting a war using a particular method or weapon. Spiritual weapons are not carnal but they are mighty through God (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). There are spiritual armours (weapons) and there is war itself. The spiritual war is against Satan and his demons, it is not war against a person. If a man or woman decides to trouble your life, peace or destiny, they are human agents of Satan, you do not go against them physically but spiritual. If you confront the devil’s human agent physically you will offend God and lose your battle.

WHY? Because our God rules by laws, principles and decrees. He said a BELIEVER IS TO LOVE HIS ENEMIES and treat them nicely. As the children of the kingdom, we operate a different law from the ones practiced in the world (read Matthew 5:43-48). God said do not avenge yourself; vengeance belongs to God. He will repay those who trouble you. If your enemy is hungry, feed him, if thirsty give him drink, by so doing, you heap coals of fire on his or her head. Do not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:17-21). Fight the spirit operating in the person’s life.

The other war is the PRINCIPLE OF HOLINESS. To war against Satan, you must maintain your righteousness given to you by Christ Jesus. Those who are holy have the authority over Satan (Luke 10:19). Even if your enemies join forces, the enemy will be punished and the posterity of the righteous will be delivered (Proverbs 11:21). God hears the prayers of the righteous (Proverbs 15:29). The name of Jesus is a strong tower, the righteous is safe when they run into Jesus – Proverbs 18:10; and in Psalm 37:17-19, the word of God days that God will break the arms of the wicked. The righteous will not be ashamed in the times of evil, in times of recession, they shall be satisfied. The wicked will perish and varnish and be cut off. God loves the righteous – Psalm 146:8.

The other principle of spiritual warfare is PRAYER AND FASTING. Prayer and fasting will take care of every stubborn enemies or challenges in your live – Matthew 17:14-21). Queen Esther used it – Esther 4:16-3 day fast; King Jehoshaphat used it – 2 Chronicles 20: 3,13; the holy convocation before the Lord (One day prayer and fasting).

The most important thing in the spiritual warfare is the battle itself not the armour. Your FORGIVING SPIRIT, HOLINESS, PRAYER and FASTING is the battle itself. To war against Satan, you must understand who you are and your authority in Christ. We lost the authority when Adam fell in the Garden of Eden; but Jesus the second Adam according to the scriptures in 1 Corinthians 15:20-24; 45-48; Romans 8:14-15 collected the authority from Satan and gave it to us who believe in Him – Luke 10:19; Matthew 18:18-19. God rules in the kingdom of heaven and the earth – Daniel 14:17).

God is creator that was not created. He is the one who created everything including Satan (Ezekiel 28:14,15). God is all powerful, He gives power to whomever He pleases. Satan could not attack Job without God’s permission – Job 1:6-12; Job 2:1-7. God gave Nebuchadnezzar power to punish Israel but when pride set in into his heart, God turned him into a beast. If God allows Satan to attack you, it could be to warn you, prune you, prove you and bless you in the end. Do not worry about what the devil and his demons r his agents are doing to you, PREPARE FOR WAR. God is watching to see you win in the end. There are many warring angels ready to fight all your battles for you. Keep God’s principles and law and the Lord will fight your battles for you.

QUESTIONS

A) What do you learn from the following scriptures?
i. Psalm 62 :11
ii Psalm 82 :6

B) Are you facing challenges presently? What hope do you have?
i. Ecclesiastes 9 :4
ii 1 Peter 5 :10

C) Who is Satan and the demons? Revelation 12:3-4; 7-9 (Matthew 12:24)

D) Why does he have power over sinners and unbelievers? 2 Corinthians 4:4

E) Why do evil people fight against good Christians? John 15:19

F) Why do you think you will always win as a believer despite all odds? 1 John 4:4

G) Describe your weapon of warfare as a Christian? 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

SCRIPTURES: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; 2 Kings 6:15-18

DEFINITION:
It is to fight war without using natural weapons like gun, cutlass and other physical means. It is God’s battle against the enemies.

AIM/OBJECTIVES:
We will expose the children to spiritual warfare. The objective is for them to know that they are never alone. The aim of this teaching is to keep the children trusting in the Lord in the times of trouble and to help them to realize the authority they have against evil through Jesus in prayer.

In the world, people fight with their hands and kick with their legs. Sometimes, they use weapons like knives, gun sticks etc to fight; but when you want to fight the devil, his demons or human agent against you, you do not fight them physically but spiritually. You use physical weapons to fight what you can see; but because you cannot see the devil and his evil works with your naked eyes, God has provided for us another way called SPIRITUAL WARFARE.

Step 1: All power belongs to God. There is nothing greater, bigger, stronger or mightier than God – Psalm 62:11.

Step 2: If you give your heart to God and accept Jesus into your heart, you will become God’s child. As God’s child, you will become strong like Him – Psalm 82:6.

Step 3: Jesus came to this world and defeated Satan by raising Himself up from the grave, He triumph – Colossians 2:15; Hebrews 2:14.

Step 4: Jesus defeated Satan by not committing any sin. If you are good and righteous, it means you are stronger than Satan.

Step 5: Jesus destroyed the power of Satan – 1 John 3:8

Step 6: The devil is under God’s control

Step 7: Everything in heaven and in this world belongs to God – Psalm 89:11

Step 8: The devil can only control his demons and sinful, evil people – Luke 11:15.

Step 9: God’s power is greater than the power of Satan

Step 10: Jesus has given us the children of God all the powers and authority that we need to defeat Satan and all our enemies.

Step 11: Because you are a child of God, Jesus lives inside of you. The devil cannot defeat a good Christian.

Step 12: Jesus that is inside of you is greater than any enemy or Satan – 1 John 4:4.

Step 13: The devils obey us, they are subject to us when we pray in the name of Jesus – Luke 10:17.

Step 14: Any prayer you say in Jesus name solves all troubles. At the name of Jesus, every knee must bow – Philippians 2:9-11

Step 15: Jesus gave us the authority to overcome the powers of the devil, he cannot hurt us who are God’s children – Luke 10:19

Step 16: Whatever we pray for it will be done for us in heaven because we are God’s children – Matthew 18:18-19.

Step 17: If you believe in Jesus, you can all that Jesus did and even more – John 14:12.

Step 18: Our weapons to fight Satan or evil powers are not physical.

Step 19: The weapons are:
1) The name of Jesus
2) The blood of Jesus
3) Our Tithe, Offering, First fruit
4) Praise and Worship
5) Prayer and Fasting
6) Holiness

Step 20: But the greatest of them all is for us to be righteous and holy (living without sin).

Step 21: If you do these things, God will always be with you, He will answer when you pray and He will defeat Satan for you.

Step 22: You are never alone. God’s angels are always beside you to watch over you and protect and fight for you when you pray-Matthew 18:10; Matthew 28:20.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NO. 42 (23 OCTOBER, 2016)

TOPIC: SPIRITUAL WARFARE – PART 1
TITLE: “USING MY AUTHORITY IN CHRIST?”

INTRODUCTION: Warfare is the activity of fighting a war using a particular method or weapon. In spiritual warfare, the battle is the Lord. When we please Him and exercise His authority given to us by Jesus Christ, we are sure of victory.

God has absolute power and authority. God is a God of authority (Psalm 62:11). As sons of God, we have access to God authority. Every believer has been given power and authority to reign in life (Romans 5:17). It means that demons, principalities and powers are supposed to be placed under our dominion. We are called gods in the Old Testament (Psalms 32:6). Jesus is the Lion (King) and He gave birth to us, so we are lions. Every child of God is a god, we possess the powers and authority as Christ.

Jesus in the New Testament declared it (Luke 10:19). As a child of God, you have been given uncommon authority and power. The tragedy of the modern day Christians is that we no longer exercise our authority over evil spirits and negative circumstances. The word of God says that whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth is loose in heaven (Matthew 18:18-19). One way to exercise this power is in spiritual warfare against the enemies.

Jesus has given us the keys of the Kingdom (Matthew 16:19). The key is a symbol of authority; with the key Jesus gave you in your hand, you are in control. Satan or the enemy is not in control over your life or destiny. You are above Satan and his human agents. The angels with us are more than those against us (2 Kings 6:15-18). We are seated far above principalities and powers (Ephesians 1:20-21).

Now do you know who you are? It is time to exercise your authority in Christ and advance the power. The first principle of spiritual warfare is HOLINESS. You cannot access this authority or power to do warfare spiritually if you are unclean. Being holy allows you to stand boldly as a lion. Sin makes coward of a sinful Christian.

The second requirement is your ability to PLEASE GOD IN YOUR WORSHIP, SERVICE, TITHE, OFFERING, FIRST FRUITS. Hannah and Jephthah made warfare by making a vow to the Lord.

The other requirement is the PRINCIPLE OF PRAYER AND FASTING. Jabez prayed and overcame his situation – 1 Chronicles 4:10, Queen Esther used fasting to deliver herself and her people of Israel from destruction (Esther 4:15-16; Esther 5:1-3). Hannah prayed like never before and with a vow she made to the Lord, barren Hannah became the mother of the great prophet of Israel. In Acts 418-31, when the disciples were threatened, they took it to God in prayer and they were victorious.

Jehoshaphat used the principles of prayer, fasting, holy convocation and praise to defeat his enemies and the enemies of Israel spiritually. Israel used a shout to pull the walls of Jericho.

The warfare of Christians is not carnal. It is not by flesh or done with the human effort, it is battle done by God using His hosts of heaven to battle our enemies. If you live HOLY and RIGHTEOUS, GIVE TO HIS WORK, SERVE HIM IN WORSHIP AND SOUL WINNING, PRAY AND FAST, you will always win your battles in the unseen realm before they happen physically.
QUESTIONS

A) What happens when God speaks? Psalm 33:9

B) Why is holiness important in spiritual warfare? James 4:7

C) Explain the lessons learnt from 2 Chronicles 7:14

D) What does Matthew 18:18-19 says to you today?
MEMORY VERSE: MATTHEW 16:19

WHO IS A FARMER? A farmer is one who plants or rear animals to produce fruits for harvest in future. Every farmer needs a land to plant his seeds or rear his animals. He usually seeks a fallow ground to start the process of growing his crops.

NOW, WHAT IS A FALLOW GROUND? A fallow land/ground is:
1) A land/ground with great fertility or potential that has not been cultivated or used before for growing crops. Some call it virgin land.

2) A land that has been left to rest after long use in other to improve the quality of the land.

Let me ask again, “WHO IS A FALLOW LAND? A fallow land in this context is:
1) That person who has not come in contact with Jesus Christ and His saving grace (Virgin land);

2) That Christian who has a lot of potentials but are not useful to the Kingdom of God;

3) That person that had accepted Jesus but because of the challenges of life, has gone back to Egypt.

4) A fallow ground is that church that has left her divine mandate of soul winning for social functions.

Now, let us look at the Book of Matthew 13:1-9, where we read earlier, in this passage, Jesus spoke to his disciples in parables using natural things to teach them the Kingdom of God. In this case, God is the farmer, the word of God is the seed and we are the land/ground and the crops are the fruits we are ought to produce.

Through the help of God, our Pastor has been clearing the fallow lands by teaching us how to get freedom from sins and all the bad habits. In every fallow land, there are overgrown trees, weeds, thorns etc. The sins & bad habits in our lives are the overgrown trees, weeds etc that must be cleared before planting the seeds in us (the soil).

Taking a look at the parable of the sower where we read, as the farmer was planting the seeds, some seeds fell on the road, some fell on the rocks, some fell among thorns while some fell on the good grounds.

What kind of soil are you?
a) Are you that person that has not accepted Jesus at all even though you are in the church every Sunday with titles or positions?

b) Are you that Christian that has accepted Christ but yet, you eyes and minds are set on other things.

c) Or are you that Christian that has a lot of potentials but are not useful to the Kingdom of God.

Just as the farmer cannot plant his seed without clearing the farm/land, so God cannot use us until we purge ourselves of all sins and every bad habits. We shall not expect to receive overflowing blessings, higher level, abundance, breakthroughs (good success) unless we protect ourselves from rodents, pests, insects, weeds and other intruders that choke the seeds from growing.
Two Fridays ago, during prayer meeting, a call was made for people to genuinely come forward to receive freedom from the chains of evil & bad habits; few people answered that call. I want to assure all of you that answered that call that you are free. I say those evil habits is over forever in Jesus name – clap for Jesus somebody!

For those of you that are still living in the fantasy of the devil, it is time for you to break up your fruitless and hardened heart, so that the seed, which is the word of life will be sown in them and you will bear good fruits in Jesus name. John 15:16 tells us the benefits in bearing fruit.

BENEFITS:
1. God will be glorified – John 15:8
2. God will be happy with you,
3. Your prayers will be answered –John 15:16
4. God will encourage you and support you-John 15:2

CONDITION FOR BEARING FRUIT
 Abide in Christ – John 15:4-5.

ABIDE means, stay in, live in, Be plugged in, Be rooted in, Be connected to Christ.

BREAK UP YOUR FALLOW LAND – Read Jeremiah 4:3, Hosea 10:12
The Bible tells us in Hosea 10:12 ‘to sow for yourselves righteousness so that you can reap mercy, break up your fallow grounds, take away that stony heart, that rocky heart that prevents the seed from having roots in your life. Amend your ways, stop analyzing the word of God with your common sense (common sins), accept the word of God for what it is, not what your mind or heart is telling you – WHY? Because Jeremiah 17:9 tells us that the heart of man is evil & full of wickedness. Then, the Lord will come and rain righteousness on you – Alleluia. Remember, until you allow God, He cannot use you.

Jeremiah 4:3 says, ‘Thus says the Lord to the men and women of the Ark for Saints Church in Abuja, in Nigeria & beyond, break your fallow ground and do not sow among thorns. People of God, we should not be ‘thorns’ or allow thorns choke up the seed/word of God we receive from this pulpit and other good Christian messages.

Let us not allow political positions, husbands, wives, cars, good houses and quest to get wealth stop us from producing fruits. Let these mundane things not distract us from focusing on the needful as Jesus told Martha in Luke 10:38-42. I am not saying that all these things are not good but we should not allow it to be a distraction to the main goal – let us see what the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7:29-35. St. Paul is admonishing us here that those mundane things should not be our ultimate goal. Praise the Lord somebody! Pastor Okoro did not say people should not marry o! Somebody is looking at me somehow now – God help us in Jesus name – Clap for Jesus.

All these things are good but that is not the reason God saved you. God saved you to produce good fruits for Him. God gave you the car, the money, the houses and even private jets in some cases to serve Him and propagate the gospel of His kingdom. Do you now see that you are different from the unbeliever? You use your wealth to serve God, while the unbelievers use theirs as weapons of women demolition & confusion. Fake Pastors & Prophets have large congregations, but they defraud and take advantage of their members, leaving them worse than they came.

The right prove that you are a child of God is that you are producing other godly Saints for Christ through evangelical works, using your talents to serve God without waiting to be paid. Child of God, if you are not doing what I just said now, then know you that you are nothing but a fallow ground and the axe is laid on your root about to cut you down and thrown into the fire – may that not be your portion in Jesus name.

As I said earlier, a church can also be a fallow ground. The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 3:15 that the church is the pillar and ground of truth. What do we see today? Child of God, any church that has left the divine mandate of winning souls for Christ, helping the needy and preaching the undiluted word of God and begins to meddle with politics, division and frolicking in the world I a fallow ground. Most churches today are just dignified social clubs, no power, even where such powers exist, they are questionable. (Read 1 Timothy 4:1-2) Tell me, how can well known atheist come inside the church of God, described by Timothy as the ground of Truth, the pillar, the church of the living God and house of God to entertain members and make jest of men of God in the name of comedy and the people will be laughing and clapping? God forbid. The Ark for Saints church will remain the ground of truth, the pillar, the church of the living God until Jesus comes – shout Alleluia somebody.

Hear what the spirit of God is saying to these churches, Revelation 3:1-3 and Matthew 3:10 crowns it all by saying, ‘the axe is now laid to the root of the trees, every Trees (church) which does not bear good fruits is cut down and thrown into the fire.

CONCLUSION: Do we still remember what happened last Sunday? Just as AB wedded Chichi, metaphorically, Jesus is coming to wed the church, just as Chichi’s wedding gown was sparkling white, so are you expected to be sparkling with your garment of righteousness on that day, when the bridegroom (Jesus) will appear. I want to ask you, are you ready for the wedding?, is your garment sparkling white? Are you fully cultivated with good and quality fruits all over you? Bible tells us that every man’s work (fruits) shall be tried by fire.

PRAYER: Father, help me to bear godly fruits and never to put on fruits that will send people away from your kingdom.
ALTAR CALL
Remember in that parable that Jesus told in Matthew 13:18-23, there are good soils that bear fruits in various folds. Are you that good soil? I have good news for you, you can be a good soil today, I mean right now. Just make up your mind now and we will pray with you.

All heads bow, invite Senior Pastor –

Come to CHRIST now and He will:
C – Cleanse you of your shame;
H – Heal your wounds;
R – Redeem your life;
I – Inspire you to love others;
S – Smoothen your rough edges;
T – Take you to your destiny.

CHILDREN’S CHURCH LESSON 42 (OCTOBER 16, 2016)
GRADES 1, 2 AND 3

TOPIC: THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER
SCRIPTURES: Luke 8: 5-15

DEFINITION:
The sower is the farmer who plants seeds in the ground.

AIM/OBJECTIVES:
Our objective is to illustrate what happens after hearing the word of God. The aim is for the children to carefully guard the word of God that they receive always, so that they may bear good fruit in the end in order for the word of God to benefit them.

God is the farmer and we are the soil on which He sows the seed which is the word of God. The devil likes to steal the seed (the word) so that it will not grow. When we receive the word of God without storing it deep into our heart, it will not stay. When we care too much about the things of the world (riches, pleasures of life), it will take away the word from us; but when we receive the word from our teachers and keep it safe in our heart (that is, if we can remember them always), we will bear much fruits. It means we shall have the benefit (rewards) for keeping the word of God in our heart. When we remember them always, we will grow and bear fruits (prosper).

Step 1: When a farmer has finished preparing the farm, he must plant on it. After taking away bad habits away from our heart, we must put in the word of God into our heart (that is the soil). God is the farmer.

Step 2: The seed in the parable (story) is the word of God – Luke 8:11

Step 3: The devil does not want God’s children to bear fruit (prosper), so he comes immediately after hearing the word of God to steal it from you by making you to forget what the teacher said.

Step 4: He does this so that you will not believe or get saved and prosper. These are the seeds that fell on the way side. – Luke 8:12

Step 5: The seeds that fell on the rock is like hearing the word of God but not holding it strongly in your heart (no root). The word will not stay long because you will forget them.

Step 6: These are those who hear the word with so much joy but when troubles or temptation comes, they forget – Luke 8:13

Step 7: There are those who hear the word of God but the cares for riches (material things), pleasures and life (play, party, sleep, etc) takes it away and they forget – Luke 8:14

Step 8: But there are those who hear the word of God and do them because they remembered them always. These ones will prosper. They will bear plenty fruits (they will be great in life).

Step 9: They are the seeds that fell on the good ground – Luke 8:15
